Salem, Va. -- Following a big win over in state foe Mary Washington, Roanoke's Connor Kinkema has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week.
Kinkema, a sophomore from Collinsville, Va., sped his way to a trio of individual wins and a helped Roanoke to a relay victory as the Maroons toppled Mary Washington, 162-100, in a dual meet. Kinkema, who set ODAC season top times in each event, won both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events in 0:58.31 and 2:06.36, respectively. He is the ODAC record-holder in both events. He also won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:16.72. Kinkema then swam the second leg on the Maroons' 400-yard medley relay team that posted a winning time of 3:32.59.
Roanoke is back in the pool on Nov. 16 when it hosts Emory & Henry at 4:00 p.m.
