Field Hockey Falls 3-0 To Randolph-Macon on Saturday
SALEM - The Roanoke College field hockey team fell 3-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action to Randolph-Macon College on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons now have a record of 4-4; 0-2 in the ODAC, while the Yellow Jackets are 2-6, 1-0 in ODAC play.

Randolph-Macon put up one goal in the first half as Catherine Pricone scored on an unassisted shot at the 16:00 mark to take a 1-0 lead. The Yellow Jackets went on to score two more goals in the second half. Mackenzie Turner scored an unassisted goal at 46:45 to extend Randolph-Macon's lead to 2-0. Carrie Jacobs scored 10 minutes later on a rocket of a shot from the top of the circle. The Yellow Jackets would go on to hold its 3-0 lead through the end of the contest for the win.

Roanoke put up 15 shots during the contest. Kelsey Palmisano finished the game with five shots, followed by ODAC Player of the Week, Shelbi Holloman, who tallied four shots, all of which were on goal. Kellie Jasinski was third in shots on the squad with three. Candice Fisher played all 70 minutes in net and tallied nine saves.

Randolph-Macon narrowly outshot the Maroons, putting up 18 shots during the game. Catherine Pricone fired off five shots, while Mackenzie Turner and Carrie Jacobs each finished with four apiece. Shannon McMurray played the complete game and stopped 13 of the Maroons 15 shots.

The Maroons are back in action on Sunday, September 28th as they take on Centre College at Donald J. Kerr Stadium. That contest is scheduled for a 12:00 PM start.
